New Stuff in 2012

On I had an accident caused by catastrophic equipment failure. My guitar, my bicycle and me are all a bit more scarred from the experience. Much happier news is that beginning in October I had my first regularly scheduled weekly gig at a local coffee house. There are several YouTube videos posted from some of these performances.

I replace the link to the mp3 audio file of the performance of Early Morning Hours with a link to a YouTube video of the performance of that song at Till It Shines Coffee House.

I greatly improve the Multimedia index page. It was a jumbled mess before, difficult to read, difficult to update. I also replace the link to the music video of Red Baron with one of the performance at Till It Shines. The 2008 video is still on YouTube because of the great aviation art (used by permission), but this newer video shows how I play the song more aggressively now.

I replace the link to the YouTube video of the performance of Hot Young Blonde with a better one from the show at Till It Shines Coffee House. For two of my older song pages from my days with R Band (Freedom and Hot Young Blonde with R Band), I add links to YouTube videos from the performance by The Bicycling Guitarist in addition to the existing mp3 links from a concert by R Band.

I replace the link to the YouTube video of the performance of Entropy with a better one from the show at Till It Shines Coffee House. I also make this video public on my YouTube channel (the previous one was unlisted, viewable only if one had the direct link to it).

I remove the words “founder of  Band” from after the title “The Bicycling Guitarist” on my home page. R Band broke up in the mid-1990s. I am still going. While R Band may reform some day, I see no need to continue advertising it when I have so much more new material and new recordings of old material. I still claim ownership of the R Band name and logo.

I replace the link to the YouTube video of last week's live performance of my Shopzilla parody song with a link to a YouTube video of a better performance from last night's show.

I replace the link to the mp3 file for the Al Gore Rhythm song with a link to a YouTube video from a live performance at Till It Shines Coffee House in Roseburg, Oregon on . I also put a link to a YouTube video from that show for the Shopzilla parody song and replace the YouTube video of the performance of Entropy with a better one from last night's show.

I replace the links to mp3 files for the Evolution and Entropy songs with links to YouTube videos from a live performance at Till It Shines Coffee House in Roseburg, Oregon on .

I replace the older audio files for Al Gore Rhythm and Logger Rhythm with better recordings from the live performance at Till It Shines. I replace the older audio files for Early Morning Hours and Entropy with ones from the live performance at Till It Shines.

Legalize, Oh! Jennifer! and Tray Dipper now have links to YouTube videos from a live performance at Till It Shines Coffee House in Roseburg, Oregon on (last night). I also replace the older mp3 downloads for Evolution with a better mp3 recording from last night's performance.

Crazy Metal, Prayer, Death, and What Can I Say? all now have better mp3 recordings available for optional free download from their song lyrics pages. These four recordings are all from a live performance at Till It Shines on .

I replace the YouTube videos (see entry just prior to this one) for Hot Young Blonde and Running Out of Time with better quality recordings from a still more recent (last night) live performance at Till It Shines Coffee House in Roseburg, Oregon on .

On the song lyrics pages for Red Baron, Hot Young Blonde and Running Out of Time, I post links to YouTube videos from a recent () live performance at the Mystic Earth bookstore in Roseburg, Oregon.

I write the third verse to my Beatles parody song Tray Dipper. I like best those parodies which stay very close to the original or sound like they do. Check my parody lyrics against the Beatles Day Tripper to see how close I got.

I add more lyrics to my Tray Dipper song. For twenty-two years I had some parody lyrics for the song Day Tripper by The Beatles, but only for the second verse. Today I heard of a Beatlemania show at a local retirement center hosted by Joe Ross, a bluegrass musician from the West Coast. Inspired by this, I quickly came up with lyrics for the first verse. I still need to make fun of the third verse of the original song to have a complete parody. I attended the show and performed with Joe Ross. I also told Joe his show had inspired these new lyrics.

I add a link to my new BrickLink store on my website's Home page in order to sell Lego models of The Bicycling Guitarist for promotional purposes. I also move the Copyright Notice and Privacy Statement from the home page to a separate page, make their text ordinary size instead of fine print, and add a link to this Legal Stuff from the home page.

The Beatles Help! played on a bicycle shows me riding and playing inside a gymnasium (recorded ). This is the first winter in thirty years of bicycle guitaring where I have a place to ride and play indoors when it is too cold and wet to do outside. This is also the first time I have posted something on my “New Stuff” page that is not on my own website but is on my YouTube channel instead. Look for more videos to be posted in the weeks to come!
