In the summer of 2001, Diane started calling our cat Pandora “Fluffy” (she said it as “Fwuffy” at the time, but is getting the “l” sound now). She may have been unable to say “Pandy” or “Pandora,” and she also may have been influenced by the name of Angelica's cat “Fluffy” on the popular Nickelodeon television show Rugrats. Mommy and Daddy sometimes call Pandora “Fluffy” now, but brother resists it. However, there is now a practical reason for the name change. We acquired a dog this summer whose name is “Bandi.” This is close enough to “Pandy” to confuse the animals if not the people. In the Fall of 2001, Diane started calling the dog “Honey.” For now at least her parent's names are still “mommy” and “daddy.” This may change when she becomes a teenager!
