There were at least a dozen other songs not listed here, including some by Fred and some by Bryan, that were part of our regular repertoire for jams. R Band usually started every practice session and every live performance with Early Morning Hours. All the other songs listed in this section were not done by R Band but are part of the “Chris Watson show.” Tray Dipper and Shopzilla are parody songs. One Florida Night is the only instrumental song (no vocals) listed on this page. I have many other instrumental songs. |

Most of my songs here have an mp3 audio file available for download. Ten of the twelve songs of R College Story have recordings. In 2008 I finally converted these audio files from RealPlayer format to mp3s. All twelve songs of R Blonde Story are available. They were recorded live from a December 1995 gig at the Airmen's Club of Travis Air Force Base, California, and were remixed at Transformations Studio in Calistoga, California in April of 1999.
In October 2004 I began recording some of my original songs using the microphone of my web camera to record my guitar played through a battery-powered Pignose amplifier. The sound quality of this method of recording is awful, but at least the tunes are preserved for me to re-record later. These songs are also in mp3 format and are listed on the Multimedia page.
In November 2008 I started recording myself using free sound recording software and plugging my guitar directly into the sound card. This is much better for the guitar sounds, but for vocals the microphone is still the limiting factor. I'm using one that looks like it came from a cereal box, a tiny little thing.
