Over the Rainbow

(music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg)

I first heard Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of this song in the movie 50 First Dates, but it has been featured in many other films including Meet Joe Black. The version I play is from the 2001 album Alone in IZ World. Originally “Iz” released this song on his 1993 album Facing Future as part of a medley with another song What a Wonderful World.

Ooo ooo ooo
Ooo ooo ooo

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Once in a lullaby

Oh somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Dreams really do come true

Someday I'll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Oh somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dare to
Oh why, oh why can't I?

Oh someday I'll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Oh somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dare to
Why, oh why can't I, I?

Ooo ooo ooo
Ooo ooo ooo
Ooo, ah ah
